A warm Hello to all
This winter got off to a slow start, allowing for glorious, more temperate days during June, but now it’s July, and the puffer jackets are out in force. The colder weather and shorter daylight hours provide the perfect opportunity to:
Honour our body’s needs – Winter invites us to slow down, soften our edges, and tend to what’s happening beneath the surface, what the body has been storing.
Let go of what no longer serves you –This is where Reiki does its most profound work. Releasing what the mind cannot let go of alone. Clearing what the body has been storing long after the moment passed.
Recent Reiki Magic Moments
- What a wonderful weekend of sharing and learning and reaping the benefits of our Reiki practices during Reiki II Course at the end of June. It was such a blessing to witness how their daily practices are bringing the students “serenity within the storms” of their daily life.
- Supporting clients in achieving breakthroughs in letting go of unhelpful beliefs and habits, and replacing ‘knee-jerk’ reactions with considered actions.

Finding Your Path Documentary (full details on Finding Your Path Film facebook page)
Words from Wendy Saunders – Producer. What a wonderful afternoon we had at the Finding Your Path premiere screening at the Kiama Bowlo on 16 June, with around 75 guests joining us to celebrate.
A highlight of the afternoon was everyone coming together in song, with Maree Shepherd from Sing Australia Kiama leading us in It’s a Wonderful World, and Bernie also organising a beautiful group rendition of Helen Reddy’s I Am Woman.
The afternoon continued with great discussion following the screening, Q&A, singing, and a lovely spread of afternoon tea with delicious slices and fresh fruit.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a memorable and uplifting event. What a beautiful community to be a part of.
FYP Heritage Workshop
The Finding Your Path screening and Heritage Workshop at the Kiama Historical Society, Pilot’s Cottage brought together community members for an afternoon of reflection, storytelling and creativity.
Following the documentary screening, facilitator Nancie Clisby guided participants through a series of activities exploring how family history, culture and personal experiences shape our identity.
A guided meditation led into a creative collage activity, where participants used colours, images and words to express their heritage and life journey. As each collage was shared, common themes of family, community, hope and resilience emerged, creating meaningful conversations and a strong sense of connection.

Nourish your energy, your ki, during winter:
- Reiki self-practice to balance your central nervous system
- Enjoy warm, hearty soups, casseroles and flavoursome curries
- Put on your favourite music, let loose and dance with nobody watching
- Winter sun time – Optimising light exposure early in the day helps regulate serotonin and melatonin production, stabilising mood and energy level
- Hydration – drink plenty of warm water, herbal teas, broths to prevent dehydration-induced fatigue and cognitive sluggishness
- A diet containing ample amounts of protein is associated with several mental health-boosting benefits, including increased serotonin, or “feel-good” chemicals in the brain, reduced cortisol, or stress hormones in the body, balanced blood sugar levels and improved mental clarity
- Physical movement – is crucial for maintaining energy flow and emotional resilience during winter. Try moderate intensity exercise, such as yoga, chair yoga, qi gong, tai chi, walking – If you are increasing your heart rate, breathing faster and feeling warmer than before – you are exercising!
- Breathe – breathe down into the hara – connect with Earth ki – be grounded and focused in the present moment; relaxed and calm
with love, light and gratitude
Nancie
